Apple Crumble

Filling…

  • 6 to 8 cups peeled, cored, & sliced apples
  • 3/4 cups granulated sugar
  • dash of lemon juice
  • 1 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg

Crumble Topping…

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 3/4 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp. nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp, allspice
  • 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter

Mix prepared apples with the sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Place in a greased 7×9 inch baking pan.

For crumble… combine oats, flour, sugars, salt, cinnamon, nutmeg, and allspice in a small bowl. Cut butter into cubes and cut into these ingredients with a fork, or pastry blender, until bits are the size of peas. Distribute over apples evenly and bake @ 375 degrees for about 45 minutes. Enjoy with some ice cream or whipped cream on top!
